i have just applied for account with the abby
and they are going to send me a visa electron card
which i am not really very happy about
because i do a lot of my shopping and paying bills online
and some of the company i pay are now not accepting electron cards
like bt used to they are not now

actually, my experience tells me different. I went to Abbey and asked for a Visa Electron card to be added to my current account and had no problems. This was about 6 months ago. Have you tried going to a branch and ask for a Visa Electron card?

I checked with the Abbey website. They only issue Visa Electron cards to schoolchildren and international students, so unfortunately I am 47 years too old and will have to make do with a Visa Delta card and pay the airline card charges. Dave. C

No, you will not be protected solely by the card. If the airline is in the ATOL travel finance protection agreement which most are, they will cover costs and get you home. To be sure though, you will be protected as long as you have a valid travel insurance policy (check policy details). The vast majority of travel insurance policies will cover airline failure, and you can get insurance from as little at £1.50 a trip on some price comparison websites.

actually that doesn’t seem to be right. My girlfriend has a “normal” Abbey account and she asked for one and it has arrived 2 weeks later. She didn’t have any problems with it. Do you have an Abbey account?
